There are lots of matches this week as we are into the final months for international leagues and heating up stateside with MLS! Here is your midweek update to get your morning going with our Breakfast Links.    

Houston  

The Houston Dynamo are preparing to “Beat LA” as they host LA Galaxy on Saturday night. The Dynamo are currently undefeated at home and have kept two clean sheets. They will be looking to maintain the streak, so get tickets to be out there and support! 

The Houston Dash will face the Mexican Women’s National Team on Tuesday, April 11 at 7:00pm CT at Shell Energy Stadium. Tickets are available for that match as well.

Houston Dynamo 2 are still in search of their first win in 2023 as they failed to maintain the lead against Colorado Rapids 2 this past weekend. Dos will be on the road to face St. Louis CITY 2 in their next match. You can catch this game on Apple TV Friday at 7 PM CT.

The Philadelphia Union needed an 89th-minute Dániel Gazdag penalty to beat 10-man Atlas FC, 1-0, Tuesday night in their Concacaf Champions League quarterfinal first leg at Subaru Park. 

​​An all-MLS matchup arrives tonight in the 2023 Concacaf Champions League when Vancouver Whitecaps FC host LAFC for a quarterfinal leg-one matchup, shortly before the return fixture occurs April 11 in Los Angeles. 

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found Orlando City SC midfielder César Araújo guilty of simulation/embellishment in the 39th minute of Orlando’s match against Nashville SC on April 1. The MLS Disciplinary Committee also found Minnesota United FC midfielder Franco Fragapane guilty of simulation/embellishment in the 28th minute of Minnesota’s match against St. Louis CITY SC on April 1. Both players were fined an undisclosed amount.   

Around the World    

Real Madrid visit Barcelona in the return leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals. Los Blancos are trailing 1-0 on aggregate and will need to overcome that deficit in order to advance to the Final against Osasuna. Barcelona is coming into this match with good momentum as they lead La Liga as well. 

Freiburg stunned favorites Bayern Munich 2-1 in their German Cup quarterfinal on Tuesday thanks to a second-half stoppage-time penalty from Lucas Hoeler. 

Romelu Lukaku's management company reacted with outrage after the Inter Milan forward was shown a second yellow card and then sent off for a gesture toward Juventus fans who directed racist chants at him. 

Chelsea and Liverpool were both left frustrated after a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday in the home side's first game since the dismissal of Graham Potter as manager. In addition, Luis Enrique has flown to London for talks on taking over the manager's job at Chelsea per Fabrizio Romano and ESPN.
