We are officially into the 3rd Month and the season has begun! Here is your midweek update to get your morning going with our Breakfast Links. 

Houston

The Houston Dynamo are preparing to travel to New England to face the Revolution on Saturday night. Good news, Ifunanyachi Achara has officially trained with the team, and will look to add depth to the growing roster.

Major League Soccer 

Match week 1 came to a close, minus El Tráfico, as Portland defeated SKC 1-0 at home. Juan Mosquera scored the lone goal just six minutes into the game and Portland spent the remaining time defending the lead to claim the 3 points.


Uruguayan winger Facundo Torres will extend his contract with Orlando City, per Fabrizio Romano, with an agreement in place until 2027.


Austin FC have confirmed an early-season injury blow, announcing Tuesday that starting center back Julio Cascante is sidelined indefinitely after suffering a severe left adductor strain.

Around the World 

Lionel Messi has been crowned the Best FIFA Men's Player at the 2022 The Best FIFA Awards, after leading Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar.

The FA Cup continued with the Fifth Round Proper as Brighton, Fulham, Manchester City, and surprisingly Blackburn are into the quarter finals. The remaining matches will take place today and will determined the additional 4 teams that will join the later.

On Thursday, Real Madrid and Barcelona will fight it out for the right to face either Osasuna or Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final.
