We are half way to the weekend, but sadly there is no Dynamo soccer to look forward to! Here is your midweek update to get your morning going with our Breakfast Links.
Houston
The Houston Dynamo are on a bye week as players get more time to rest. The club announced on Monday that Jeff Stewart has joined the organization as the chief revenue officer. He is the fourth front office executive hired by the Club since the arrival of majority owner and chairman Ted Segal in 2021.
The Houston Dash announced the team’s updated preseason roster on Tuesday. Houston has added defender Courtney Peterson and midfielder Bárbara Olivieri. The Dash signed Peterson to a two-year contract on Feb. 13, following the acquisition of her rights in a trade with Orlando Pride. Olivieri signed with the Dash through the 2023 season with an option for 2024 on Feb. 7.
The Dash will scrimmage against Texas Christian University on Saturday at Shell Energy Stadium. The scrimmage will run in conjuction with the club’s annual fire sale. You can sign up for the match and the fire sale at this link.

Austin FC’s CONCACAF Champions League debut quickly turned into a nightmare Tuesday night, losing 3-0 to Haitian side Violette AC in their Round of 16 first-leg match. Violette AC picked up the win in their first competitive match of any kind since May 22, 2022, a span of 289 days.
The Philadelphia Union poked and prodded, but couldn't find the breakthrough goal in a 0-0 draw against Alianza FC in their Concacaf Champions League Round of 16 first-leg match at Estadio Cuscatlán in El Salvador Tuesday night.
In the first MLS-Liga MX showdown of many in 2023, Orlando City SC and Tigres UANL played to a 0-0 draw in a pulsating CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16 encounter at Estadio Universitario Tuesday night.

Champions League Nights! Chelsea beat Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge 2-0 on Tuesday to book their place in the Champions League quarterfinals. Benfica join Chelsea in the quarterfinals after beating Club Brugge 5-1 to wrap up a 7-1 aggregate win in the last 16. There isore excitement to come today, as Bayern Munich will host PSG and AC Milan take a trip to London for their match against Tottenham Spurs.
The Europa League round of 16 kicks off Thursday! Manchester United seek to reestablish their form after the weekend’s massacre, as they host Real Betis. Arsenal will travel to Lisbon for their match against Sporting and Real Sociedad will visit the Italian capital as they face Roma.
