After a long week, it’s Cinco de Mayo. What a way to celebrate it by having a full weekend of soccer and European football. Let’s dive in and get the weekend started!

Houston

The Houston Dynamo are back from the bye week to face Real Salt Lake at Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday night at 7:30 PM. The Dynamo sit in 6th place in the Western Conference with two games in hand. Houston would like to continue their unbeaten run at home, but RSL haven’t lost their last ten meetings with the Dynamo. It will be a game that you don’t want to miss, either at the stadium or on Apple TV MLS Season Pass.

Dynamo 2 travels to Canada to face Vancouver Whitecaps 2 on Sunday Night at 8:00 PM. Dynados are coming off a convincing win against Sporting KC II and they will want to continue the confidence and turn the season around. Houston will be facing a good Whitecaps team that will test their defense. Catch it on Apple TV MLS Season Pass under the MLS NEXT Pro Section.

After winning in the UKG NWSL Challenge Cup Wednesday night, the Dash travel to Seattle to face OL Reign on Saturday night at 9:00 PM. It will be an interesting match with the second-best home team in the league against the second-best away team. Don’t miss it, after the Dynamo game, on Paramount +.

Keep an eye out on our website, podcast, Instagram, and Twitter for more updates as the season kicks into high gear!

MLS/Concacaf

The second semifinal of the Concacaf Champions League was settled Wednesday night. Favorites Tigres were dumped out of the tournament by Leon after winning 2-1 in the first leg. Two early Leon goals from Fidel Ambriz and Angel Mena shocked Tigres and they found it difficult to get back in the game. The nail in the coffin was the late goal by Adonis Frias to send Leon to the CCL final against MLS Champion LAFC. It will be a two-leg final on May 31st and June 4th.

Around the World

Yesterday, Napoli clinched their first league title in 33 years with a draw against Udinese. It’s the first title after the famous Diego Maradona era. Look around Twitter and see how happy the city is. Also, Hirving “Chucky’ Lozano is the first Mexican player to win the Scudetto.

Speaking of title races, the Premier League and Bundesliga are heating up with close margins to define who will get the title. Also, the Copa del Rey final will be on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 with favorites Real Madrid vs Osasuna.

Don’t forget to set your alarm for Sunday afternoon at 3:30 PM to see the famous rivalry of Boca Juniors vs River Plate. They never disappoint, no matter their position on the table. You can tune in on Paramount +.

This will be a weekend to remember, to go along with today’s festivities! Enjoy the weekend and see you back on Monday!
