Hopefully you are lucky enough to be enjoying a 3 day weekend. Here are your Labor Day Breakfast Links!
Houston
The Houston Dynamo earned yet another clean sheet this weekend, this one via a scoreless draw on the road against the LA Galaxy. Both teams had decent looks in front of goal but wasted their opportunities. Now, Houston will be on a 2 week break due to the FIFA window where Coco Carrasquilla, Hector Herrera, and Xavier Valdez will be representing their respective countries. Let’s go Dynamo!
The Houston Dash season looks to be coming to an early end. Last night the ladies lost 1-0 against San Diego Wave, playing almost 60 minutes with a player down after Michelle Alozie received a red card. The Dash have now not won a regular season match since June 3rd. Sam Laity will hope to reset his team during a 2 week hiatus and finish out strong in the last 4 games of the regular season for a chance to make the postseason. DTFO!
Houston Dynamo 2 tasted defeat at home, yet again, on Sunday night. Kenny Bundy and his boys now find themselves below the playoff line with just 3 games left in the regular season. Dos lost on Sunday 3-1 against St. Louis CITY 2 and just didn’t look good at all. The team will need to turn it around quick and not spend too much time licking their wounds. Vamos Dyna Dos!

Inter Miami’s 180-degree turnabout since the arrival of Lionel Messi and his old friend Sergio Busquetsis undoubtedly remarkable. With Sunday night’s pulsating, star-studded 3-1 road win over reigning MLS Cup champions LAFC, the Herons have gone from a nine-game winless skid and last place before their debuts to 11 matches and counting undefeated across Leagues Cup, US Open Cup and MLS play, fueled by Messi’s 11 goals and eight assists in those 11 games.
Few teams heading into MLS Matchday 30 needed a win quite as badly as Real Salt Lake. If that sounds like an exaggeration, here’s what head coach Pablo Mastroeni had to say following Saturday night’s 2-0 defeat of the Colorado Rapids that ended a four-game losing streak across all competitions for the Claret-and-Cobalt.
Around the World
Erik ten Hag is standing by his comments about Jadon Sancho's absence from the Manchester United squad, sources told ESPN, despite the forward's furious response to his manager's claims. Sancho was axed from the squad for the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal on Sunday with Ten Hag saying afterwards that "on his performance in training we didn't select him."
Kyle Walker admitted he was "close" to leaving Manchester City for Bayern Munich this summer, but has revealed he's now set to sign a new contract at the Etihad Stadium. Walker was wanted by the Bundesliga champions, but chose to stay at City after they returned with their own offer of a new deal.
Robert Lewandowski's late penalty earned Barcelona a hard-fought 2-1 win at Osasuna on Sunday as the defending LaLiga champions secured their third consecutive victory after starting the season with a goalless draw at Getafe.
Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain romped to a 4-1 away triumph over troubled Lyon on Sunday to record a second win in the new Ligue 1 season. Mbappe converted a fourth-minute penalty, and netted the fourth goal just before the halftime break, as victory took PSG up to eight points from four games and into second spot, two behind leaders Monaco.
