2024 in review
With an impressive resume, Ramona Bachmann joined the Dash from French club Paris Saint-Germain in April as an experienced and accomplished attacking player the team needed. It quickly became clear that she was a bright spot in the Dash’s front line.
Bachmann was a regular in the starting XI, but like many of the team’s forwards, she struggled to make a significant impact on the score sheet. Despite having frequent touches in the attacking third and positioning herself well for service, she was unable to contribute goals or assists given the minutes she was allotted.
Unfortunately, after the league's midseason break, Bachmann's impact was further limited. She was excused for most of the summer and the majority of the second half of the season, only returning for the final two matches when the team had already been eliminated from playoff contention.
Moment of the season
Bachmann’s first NWSL goal, which game against North Carolina Courage, was a perfect showcase of her style. Avery Patterson won the ball off a free kick and delivered a precise cross to an unmarked Bachmann. Ramona calmly took her time, placing the ball past both the defenders and the goalkeeper. It left Dash fans hoping that more moments like this would follow after such a brilliant finish.
Looking forward
Bachmann signed a three-year contract that runs through 2026, but her future with the team remains uncertain. Despite the long-term deal, her absence during the second half of the season raises questions about whether she will return next year. The team may reevaluate several contracts, including hers, as they plan for the future.
