HOUSTON DASH ASSISTANT COACH RICKY CLARKE

On the match:

"What you saw tonight is a team that's prepared to play for each other - all the way until the end of the game. We're coming in with 17 players. We traveled with three goalkeepers, (so we had) 14 players that could come on the field and help the team. I said to the group afterwards, I'm incredibly proud that we went toe-to-toe with Orlando towards the end. Towards the end, we had just done so much work. Just incredibly proud of our effort. Proud to stand on the sideline and coach these players."

On the team’s push in the second half:

"We spoke about that at halftime. We felt like we shot off a little bit too much. We asked the forwards to get a little bit higher and pin their full backs more in the second half. As the game went on, especially when they scored that second goal, we got back in it, we scored our goal, and we just got momentum. We were moving the ball quicker into the wider areas and we were pinning them back. When you're playing against a team like that, the last thing you want to do is chase the game and open up spaces."

On what makes Orlando tough to beat:

"To be totally honest with you, I'll just focus on us. I worry about the things that we need to do. I focus on the things that we're interested in and what we need to get better on. What you saw tonight was, again, us playing a different system. Us working incredibly hard for each other and us making it difficult to play against. I think Orlando threw everything at us. They made changes towards the end of the game, tried to change our game, tried to make it difficult for us. Our players just kept coming back. We kept playing in areas that made it difficult for them. We asked players to get on the ball and be brave and play through that press. Tonight, I think you saw that. You saw that from our backline, being comfortable in possession of the ball. You saw it from the way that we played in midfield. You know, Diana Ordonez worked incredibly hard up top for long periods on her own. Sometimes you don't get the result from the performance and the output that you put into a game. But again, I'm just incredibly proud of our team.”

On Jane Campbell reaching 100 saves in the regular season:

"She's breaking records left, right and center. You know, and in a way, it's great for her. In another way. We don't want her to break too many records, but what I would say tonight is, you know, the way Paige Nielsen and Jylissa Harris played against (Barbra) Banda, I was incredibly impressed. They worked together to nullify her, despite our fullbacks pinching in. What you see was a team that was prepared to work for each other and Jane (Campbell) is a big part of that.”

HOUSTON DASH DEFENDER AVERY PATTERSON

On the match:

"This was a game that I was personally really excited for. I was able to have a lot of my family and friends come to this game. I was on the left side in the first half, and then I was switched to the right side in the second half. So, I was able to play in front of them for the whole 90 minutes. Personally, I was really excited for this game. Obviously a tough result, but we move on to the next week and we focus on the final four games."

On what makes Orlando a tough team to beat:

"They are solid in every line, and they don't need 12 opportunities to score a plethora of goals. Tonight they finished their chances when they had them. I give flowers to Jylissa (Harris) and Paige (Nielsen) plus Chappy (Allysha Chapman) and the entire backline. (Michelle Alozie) in the first half. Credit to everyone that played a role in containing Barbra Banda. Obviously, she's a huge threat up top for them. Then one unlucky time there with Marta. I think we contained their main threats really well for the majority of the game."

On the team’s response in the second half:

"At halftime, we talked about how they were going to come out and try and punch it in the mouth. We needed to be the team to punch first. We weren't, but we were the team to punch second. That's a positive. That's always positive. We just need to find a way to be more consistent with those positive stints and make it a full 90 minutes instead of a 30-minute stint."

On Jane Campbell’s performance:

"She's been steadfast for us the entire year. The saves tonight were unreal, and I know she saved my butt on numerous occasions tonight. Obviously, everyone knows that she's the best goalkeeper in the league. She just solidified that again tonight.”

On the impact of the veterans on the team:

"They're such great role models on-and-off the field. No one deserves it more than Yuki (Nagasato). She's been one of those players, whenever she scores, it's going to be a banger. Being able to celebrate her again is huge and I look up to them so much."
