Houston Dash at Portland Thorns - Staff picks

The Houston Dash are in Portland tonight for a road test against the Thorns. We asked our staff to weigh in how the match up between the Dash and Thorns will go.

Rudy - 2-1 Dash loss
(Record: 2-1)

Houston are currently navigating muddy waters. They are trying to build something new under Fran Alonso but it will take time. Portland is struggling as well this year but playing at home, I give them the advantage and the win.

Manny - 2-2 draw
(Record: 2-1)

It's going to be a tough game for both teams. Both let goals in for fun. The Thorns are favorites but, how will their defense hold up? The Dash have to reshuffle their attacking line with some departures and hopefully one of their attacking pieces can step up to get a road point.

Dustyn - 3-1 Dash loss
(Record: 1-2)

I feel like I say this each week in these but Rom wasn’t built in a day. They seem to be on the right path, trading a disgruntled, underperforming player in Maria Sanchez and adding defensive help. Things are looking up for this season, it just won’t be tonight.

Gribbs - 1-1 draw
(Record: 1-2)

Neither side has shown out much this season and while a road victory could be in sight for the Dash, I think the Thorns come back to level things late.
