HOUSTON DASH HEAD COACH SAM LAITY
On the match:
"Proud of the group. Proud of the 10 players on the field and the players that came off the bench. They put in a monumental effort for the team. We were down to 10 players for a long period of time. We were hoping to stay in the game for as long as possible and start opening up for the last 10 or 15 minutes to see if we could get something. Proud of the effort for the players. To come and play against San Diego with they players they've got, how direct that team is and the threats that they have offensively. It's difficult to come here with 11 players. When we had 11, I thought we had showed some promise but then with 10 players, then it's difficult."
On where the team currently stands:
"I've never experienced a season like this in my life or in the NWSL. There are three games we've had now where we've had 10 players. You've got to keep it level on the field, it was a silly foul and one that I didn't think we needed to make and put us under pressure for the remainder of the game. Four games left, plenty to play for, we'll push ahead."
On the defensive performance:
"We put a shift in today. Like I said early on, I'm really proud of the players and their effort, their want and desire to keep the ball out of the back of the net. If we tried to go expansive earlier in the game, then the game would have gotten away from us. Difficult. We played a lot of football with 10 players. Hugely disappointing to be at 10 players. Again, proud of the effort. We've got to dust ourselves and get ready for Louisville in almost two weeks."
HOUSTON DASH DEFENDER CAPRICE DYDASCO
On the match:
"I am just really proud of my team. I was just telling them that I don't think a team has faced being down a player more than us this year. I'm just really proud of what we put out there and the grit we have shown. It was a great performance tonight, despite everything."
On her goal line clearance:
"I could have continued my run (after conceding), I could have stopped it. I said to myself, 'If there was another opportunity to cover Jane (Campbell's) back and have her back and just keep running, I would.' I saw that the player got past Jane a little bit and I was just trying to get back behind Jane and have her back like she always does for me. The ball fell to me and I was just in the right spot at the right time."
