HOUSTON DASH HEAD COACH FRAN ALONSO

On the match:

“We had a great performance, especially in the first half. We had a couple of average chances. But then we didn't have much in the final third. They managed to play most of the first half in our half of the field, that's something we always try to avoid. We changed our approach in the second half, and I thought the game was going well. We were growing into the game. We were also put under a lot of pressure, not really big, big chances, but still. Probably the only big chance of the game was with the penalty. I think overall, in my opinion, maybe a positive result, but we wanted the three points. So, for that point, disappointed but when you have a penalty against you, and we saved it, then it's a point earned. I'm pleased that we got something from the game.”

No sé, no le he visto.

HOUSTON DASH MIDFIELDER SOPHIE SCHMIDT

On the match:

“We got lucky with the PK and on the last play. We came out strong. We created a lot of chances in the first half, we took the pressure off and they got more possession. We needed to be more clinical with our chances in the final third. There were a lot of promising moments; disappointed we didn't get a goal but happy to not concede one.”

On the positives from the match:

“Jane (Campbell) is clutch, she's keeping us in the game. We need to find ways to be better in front of the goal – hit the frame and at least make the goalkeeper make a save. There are moments where we were getting into good spaces, but we've got to find a way to be more clinical.”

On pushing further up the field compared to the start of the season:

“That's probably my inner child wanting to be a forward. The partnership with Sarah (Puntigam); it allows me to go more forward because she has that defensive instinct.”
