Houston Dash vs NJ/NY Gotham FC - Staff picks
The Houston Dash are right back on the pitch for another home match tonight. We asked our staff to weigh in how the match up between the Dash and Gotham will go.
Rudy - 1-1 draw
(Record: 5-1)
This should be an interesting match, mostly because of the off-field topics like the return of the current champs under Juan Carlos Amoros. The Dash have struggled going forward and producing goal scoring opportunities. If it wasn’t for Jane Campbell, Houston's record would be much worse this season. A draw seems fair to me in this one. The high humidity will make this match a sticky one, that is for sure.
Manny - 1-0 Dash win
(Record: 2-4)
The Dash showed grit last game against Kansas City. On paper, Gotham is the better team but due to lack of form, injuries, and bad results, it will be a good opportunity for the Dash to get something out of this match. Both teams play an attacking style and we’ll see who can come out on top.
Dustyn - 2-1 Dash loss
(Record: 3-3)
Gotham is beat up and have had a rough start to their season, but they did pick up a win on Saturday. The Dash showed a lot of promise on Sunday in picking up a point against Kansas City but if you look into the stats, Jane Campbell really saved their bacon. A rotated Houston squad on short rest could struggle for a result tonight.
Joey - 2-2 draw
(Record 2-3)
The Dash face off against another team in poor form where you would expect them to get three points at home. If the Dash can get the buildup play right they should score a few goals. However, we can’t expect Jane Campbell to make 12 saves again.
