Houston Dash vs Racing Louisville - Staff picks
The Dash are back at Shell Energy Stadium for the first time in 2024 to take on Racing Louisville in the home opener. We asked our staff to weigh in how the match up between the Dash and Racing will go.
Rudy - 1-1 draw
(Record: 1-0)
The season opener was not the best of starts for Fran Aloso and his team getting beat 5-1 by a very good North Carolina Courage. Now, I still don’t see the quality up top required in this new, attack first tactic to net goals for the Dash but it definitely creates a ton of holes on the defensive side of the field. I think that a loss is more likely if we see the same approach as in week one but with the home crowd hyping the team a draw seems fair here.
Manny - 0-0 draw
(Record: 1-0)
It was a rough opener for the Dash last week. The attacking football needs work and Fran Alonso knows to make sure his defense is more solid than last game. Louisville have good quality players on the wing that can hurt the Dash in the open spaces. For the home opener, I’ll predict a draw
Dustyn - 2-0 Dash loss
(Record: 1-0)
I think this team is going to go through some growing pains for a little while early in the season. Like the Dynamo, I’m not sure where the goals are going to come from on this team right now. The defense has to be much better than what we saw last week or they’re going to get shredded again.
Gribbs - 1-0 Dash win
(Record: 1-0)
The Dash still seem lacking in the Fran Alonso offense to show their grit, but coming off a really poor showing I think the Dash improve enough to get a positive result against the visiting Louisville.
