Dynamo 2 once again got the chance to play their match at Shell Energy Stadium, this time against a different in-state rival, North Texas SC. Coming off an impressive 2-0 victory against Austin FC II, Dynamo Dos knew this match would be tough against one of the top teams in the Western Conference.

Kenny Bundy's starting XI for this crucial Western clash featured Nico Defreitas-Hansen in goal, with Xavier Valdez away on international duty with the Dominican Republic. The backline comprised of Isaac Mwakutuya, who played in today’s MLS NEXT Pro All-Star Game, Femi Awodesu, Jefferson Medina, and Tate Schmitt, who was brought in from the senior team to maintain his fitness for this match. Josue Soto and Jefferson Valverde joined as newcomers in midfield, alongside Diego Gonzalez. Up top, Bundy started with Isaiah Reid, Gabe Segal, and Mattheo Dimareli.

Dimareli opened the scoring in the 27th minute, marking his first professional career goal with a precise chipped finish after a clever through pass from Valverde left him one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

In the 33rd minute, Awodesu denied North Texas SC with a crucial block, preserving Dynamo 2's lead. Just before halftime, Schmitt orchestrated a slick one-two on the left wing, delivering a dangerous ball that North Texas defenders managed to clear under pressure from Dynamo players.

Dynamo 2 continued their good play into the second half. In the 61st minute, Achara set up Gonzalez on the right flank, who squared the ball perfectly for Gabe Segal to tap in Houston’s second goal.

Moments later, in the 65th minute, Gonzalez played a delightful through ball to Reid, who volleyed it past the goalkeeper to tally his third goal of the season and make the score 3-0.

North Texas SC came close in the 73rd minute, hitting the right post. Houston's defense held firm throughout the match hower, keeping a good NTSC side at bay.

In the 76th minute, Segal completed his brace with a stunning curling shot from outside the box, sealing a comprehensive 4-0 victory for Dynamo Dos. This capped off a stellar night for Houston, with Diego Gonzalez earning Player of the Matchweek honors thanks to his three assists.

Coach Bundy praised his team's performance, emphasizing their commitment to scoring multiple goals and keeping clean sheets. He highlighted the expectation of such performances at home in Houston and acknowledged the dedication of every player on the field.

The next match for Houston Dynamo 2 is scheduled for Sunday, July 28th, at 7:00 PM against Los Angeles FC II back at SaberCats Stadium. Admission to Dynamo Dos matches is always free, and fans can also watch the action on MLS on Apple TV. #VamosDos
