The Houston Dynamo have added another player to their stable of strikers, acquiring forward Gabe Segal from New York City FC in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft. NYCFC will also retain a percentage of a future transfer fee.

The 22-year-old Segal scored two goals in ten appearances for NYC last year before joining Hapoel Tel Aviv FC on loan. The Israeli league season was suspended and his loan agreement was terminated. Segal began his professional career in Germany with FC Koln. He made twelve appearances and recorded one assist for the German club before returning to the United States.

Segal played collegiately at Stanford Unviersity where he won the 2020 Pac-12 championship with the Cardinal. He finished his college career with 14 goals and five assists in 54 appearances.

Segal will fill a need at striker for the Dynamo after the club sold Thor Ulfarsson to Europe. With Nelson Quinones injured, Aliyu Ibrahim will likely move to the wing, leaving just Sebas Ferreira and rookie Stephen Gyamfi as the only true strikers on the roster.
