HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the match:

“Just advancing. That's about it. Not a great performance. Not many good individual performances, but it's nice to advance and move on. Give (Tampa Bay Rowdies) a lot of credit. They brought a lot of energy. We certainly expected that from the home team. They let us off the hook a few times in front of goal. We certainly didn't do ourselves any favors on the other end and finish the game out of transition or transition moments. Offensively, we were very, very poor. We didn't see out the game well. We had chances to make this easier than it was and again, give (Tampa Bay) a lot of credit. They threw some big boys and a lot of offensive players towards the end there and made it really interesting.”

On Chase Gasper:

“I thought Chase (Gasper) grew into the game. That was his first minutes in a while. He's been on the shelf in LA for a bit. You could see him each minute, get a little bit more comfortable with what we were doing out there and his connections to the back line. He now gives us some service. He probably had the most service opportunities in the game. We're happy we have him, just working on his fitness now and incorporating him into the group and how we go about things.”

On Brooklyn Raines:

“(Brooklyn Raines) is growing and we're moving him around. Every time he steps on the field, these are growth moments for him. It's important for him to be in this type of atmosphere, to be away in an (Lamar Hunt) U.S. Open Cup game and be away in New York (April 15). These are all good experiences for him. Now I want more from him. He's getting that experience, but now I want more from his performances themselves, to show that he can stay on the field for 90 minutes and start to make my life difficult to keep him off the field. That's his next challenge. He impacted the game, certainly with the goal, but up to that point, I wanted a little bit more from him.”

On Dynamo fans making the trip to Florida:

“It was great. We had a little crew here and I was sitting next to two great fans in orange, who was sitting next to three fans from Tampa that were really annoying. They had a fun time. It's a good atmosphere. This place has a lot of history as well. It's always a nice building to play in. I think Brooklyn (Raines) had some family in town here, just a little corner. It was nice to see them, and I have a few friends in the area, so we had some support. Wasn't a lot. But those 15, 20 people, it's always great to see them.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER BROOKLYN RAINES

On his play in the match:

“Great. You know, every day, day-in and day-out, I do what I can for the team. Especially coach Ben (Olsen). He's been very helpful in situations like this. Today he just told me to go out and do what I do and the whole team is behind me. So very excited for my first goal.

On earning minutes in USOC:

“This is great. Especially like you said, for young players like me to come in and just show what we got. It's a great opportunity, especially for us to grow as well with first team players. Especially from last year, I feel like I am growing a lot, growing a lot with the club and they just keep going.”

On his goal:

“I remember getting the ball on the far left. I remember Sebas (Ferreira) playing a pass to Corey Baird on the right wing. I saw a little bit of space for me to run into and Corey and I had that eye contact. I ran past the defender. (Baird) slipped it to me with my left and I shot it with my right. So, props to Corey Baird for getting it to me.”

On his growth:

“I've grown a lot every day. I remain humble and just thankful for opportunities I'm given, especially like today. To come out and play with the team. All the staff have been very supportive of my development and the players as well, like Artur, Hector (Herrera) and Coco (Adalberto Carrasquilla) always motivating me to do my best.”
