Playoff Rehearsal

Head coach Ben Olsen spoke about the importance of this match being a test run for the playoffs. Olsen is happy they get to do that against one of the best teams in MLS this season in the Galaxy. Houston can’t get into the top four seeds which means they will begin the first round best-of-three on the road. The Dynamo have been great on the road this season, and a win over the first place Galaxy can do wonders to kickstart the postseason campaign for Houston.

Ready to Go

Olsen said in his Friday press conference that captain Hector Herrera has trained all week and is 100% and will play tonight. Herrera’s importance to the Dynamo is obvious to anyone who has watched them play these last two seasons. Olsen wouldn’t get specific on how much Herrera would play but don’t expect to see him play the full 90 minutes. Getting 45-60 minutes of game action before the playoffs will be big for Herrera and the Dynamo.

Goalscorers of the Galaxy

The LA Galaxy sit top of the Western Conference this season, thanks in large part to a dynamic attack. Greg Vanney’s side is loaded with offensive talents, including the likes of Gabriel Pec, Joseph Paintsil, Dejan Joveljic, Riqui Puig. LA added German legend Marco Reus this summer to add even more firepower. The Galaxy will want to do well in this game to keep their neighbors LAFC from catching them in the standings, so expect as close to a full strength lineup as possible.
