As the temperate begins to heat up in Houston, Texas, the action on the field at Shell Energy Stadium stayed pretty mild. The Houston Dynamo kept their unbeaten run at home alive after a 0-0 draw with Real Salt Lake. The Dynamo have still yet to concede a goal at home this season but could not find a goal of their own on this night and leave with just the one point.

Brazilian center back Micael made his first MLS start. The team announced prior to the match that defender Teenage Hadebe was placed on the MLS Injury List and will miss a minimum of six regular season games.

The first half looked like a lot of Dynamo first halves this season, a scoreless contest with a couple of decent chances on each end. Coco Carrasquilla danced through the RSL defense in the 10th minute but pulled his left-footed shot wide. The best chance in the first 45 for Houston came in the 42nd minute when Corey Baird rattled the cross bar from close range. Real Salt Lake’s best chance came just minutes earlier when Bertin Jacquesson had an open look from a scissor kick in the 40th minute but Steve Clark scrambled to his right to push the ball away.

If the first half went to script, the second half followed along as well, minus any Dynamo goals. Hector Herrera’s deflected effort from the top of the box was dealt with well by RSL goalkeeper Zac MacMath. Coco Carrasquilla had two chances in a three minute span, the 79th and 81st minute, that he ended up putting into the supporters group.

The Dynamo will return to Shell Energy Stadium two more times in the next seven days. Houston will host Sporting Kansas City in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup on Wednesday night. The Seattle Sounders will be in town next Saturday for a MLS regular season contest. Both games are set for 7:30 start times.
