Enemy Scouting Report - Inter Miami CF

The Houston Dynamo came back home with their first road point of the season last weekend after their visit to Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. The Dynamo were close to bagging all 3 points, in a game that boggled the mind after seeing NY Red Bulls flood Steve Clark’s goal. Now can they continue to make Shell Energy Stadium a fortress against Inter Miami this weekend?

Inter Miami, having been in the headlines all season about “when” Lionel Messi will be playing in South Beach. However, at this time, that should be the last thing that Phil Neville and company should be worrying about.

Coming off a bye week, Inter Miami is hoping that the break was enough to gather the group and fix the issues that they have been dealing with lately. After starting the season with back-to-back home wins, the Herons have suffered five straight defeats. Five, that’s rough. Losing streaks, however, are meant to be broken so Inter Miami will love to get a win and spoil Houston’s perfect home streak. Miami lost one of their best players in Gregore early in the season due to a foot injury that will see him miss 6 months. Since his absence, Neville’s team has not been able to find an answer to replace him. The team recently signed Ecuadorian midfielder Dixon Arroyo to help sort out the defensive side of the ball, as well as bringing in Canadian defender Kamal Miller via a massive trade with CF Montreal.

The players that Houston Dynamo will need to contain will be Mexican midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro, whose swiftness will keep defenders on their toes, Argentine attacker Nicolas Stefanelli, who will always look for a breakout play, and a guy that doesn’t need much introduction in Josef Martinez. The Venezuelan hasn’t had the most glamorous time in Miami and is still in search of his first goal of the season.
