Enemy Scouting Report - New England Revolution

The Houston Dynamo kicked off the 2023 MLS season with a loss against FC Cincinnati last week. The club will look to gain their first points of the regular season on Saturday night as they travel to New England to take on the Revolution.

The New England Revolution, like Houston, did not qualify for the playoffs in 2022. However, do keep in mind that it was a major disappointment, especially after the Revs won the Supporters’ Shield and exited the playoffs early during the 2021 season. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong for New England last season.

The Revs will host Houston for New England’s 2023 home opener at Gillette Stadium. The Revolution come off a road win against Charlotte FC in Matchday 1. The team didn’t have a ton of transactions during the offseason; the most noticeable are attacker Latif Blessing and defender Dave Romney, who found himself in the starting lineup against Charlotte. However, the big story line for the Revs this year is the fact that they are getting a lot of players back healthy into their weekly team sheet. Gustavo Bou, La Pantera, is the latest player to make his return after injuries held down the veteran striker last season. Will Bou be available in the starting lineup or off the bench against the Dynamo? That is the question. The Revs didn’t have the greatest game against Charlotte but a late goal by defender Henry Kessler was enough to get the win. They will look to keep the movement going for their home fans this weekend.
