HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN
On the result:
“We are pleased with the point. We had some looks, and they had some looks. We had some breaks, and they had some breaks. It was a wild affair and looked like the third game in a week or the sixth game in two weeks. Tired legs all around, but I’m pleased with the last two weeks. We picked up a bunch of points in the league and won a U.S. Open Cup semifinal. It was a good two weeks. Now we get away from each other for a couple of days, a well-earned break for everybody. We’ll get back to work next week.”
On Andrew Tarbell’s performance:
“He did a very good job tonight. The defense held strong. There was a lot of box defending. Again, it was another shutout, which is pretty impressive, particularly against this team. The LA Galaxy is a good team. In this building you go at them in a way where you try to limit (MF Riqui) Puig's influence. He’s a special player, but we had some special players to counter it. Overall, it could have gone either way tonight.”
HOUSTON DYNAMO GOALKEEPER ANDREW TARBELL
On the result:
“It’s about the team getting the result. Getting a result away from home is good. The guys even wanted more. We’ve got a high standard for ourselves, but at the end, we’re happy to get a point on the road.”
On stepping in as the starting goalkeeper for this match:
“That’s my job, to be there when (GK) Steve (Clark) is not able to play. So, I was happy to step in and help the team. I'm sure he will be back ready to go as soon as possible for the next one. I’m happy to help the team any way I can.”
On what has led to the run of clean sheets:
“It’s our back four, midfielders and forwards. The whole team defends as a unit, and we're really organized and stingy at the back. We take a lot of pride in being good defensively, and it shows. We don't plan on changing that.”
On working alongside Steve Clark:
“Steve (Clark) is the man. He’s got so much experience. He's played in so many big games. He has a certain character, confidence and style of playing that I love to watch and learn from. So, we help each other every day, and it’s good to be his teammate."
