Houston Dynamo at Real Salt Lake staff picks

The Houston Dynamo are on the road for a tough midweek match against Real Salt Lake. We asked our staff for their picks for tonight’s match against RSL.

Cristian - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 5-14)

Even with Houston firing on all cylinders, I still think the Dynamo need that scoring firepower up top. On the other side is a very good Real Salt Lake team at home. The home team will have the edge in this one.

Rudy - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 8-10)

Houston has been in great form as of late. And have a great road record this season. Now, they will play against a team that is very similar to them in my opinion, but with the big difference being a prolific striker as Chicho Arango. I believe that he will be the difference in this match, whether he scores or goals go in due to how dangerous he is on the box.

Manny - 1-1 draw
(Record: 6-12)

This will be a tough month for the Dynamo with six games in July, and starting away at RSL isn’t easy. The Dynamo hasn’t been fortunate to get a result at RSL lately and with a quick turnaround for Sunday, and many games coming quick and fast, a draw will be a good result.

Joey - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 7-12)

It will be really tough for the Dynamo to travel to altitude on short rest following an exhausting grind-it-out game against Charlotte. Salt Lake are almost two weeks rested and ready to go. I don’t see a way Houston can come away with a win in this one.

Dustyn - 2-0 Dynamo loss
(Record: 5-14)

Away to Real Salt Lake is one of the toughest midweek games a team in MLS could get. Going to altitutde with two games in Houston bookending this match seems almost unfair. With that being said, I don’t see a way the Dynamo get a result tonight and maybe they punt on this match and rest a number of starters for Sunday’s home match against LAFC.

Gribbs -2-0 Dynamo loss
(Record 6-8)

While the Dynamo have been rolling lately, unbeaten in their previous six with two wins in a row, midweek games on the road against good teams performing well is a tall order. I could see the Dynamo taking a point, but their eyes are likely more focused on Sunday’s matchup back in Houston against LAFC.
