HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the result:

“It was a great performance with similar resiliency and grit we showed on the road against Columbus. We had good stretches with the ball and created some opportunities to steal the game tonight, but it was a difficult match, as it is every time in Seattle. It’s a hard place to get any points, but the group looked after each other all night long, and every player showed up and gave their all. There were also a couple of injuries, but it was just the next man up, and I’m proud of the guys that came in to help push for this point.”

On Junior Urso and Nico Lodeiro’s leadership roles:

“I see Júnior (Urso) as a leader for the team. That’s one of the reasons why we signed him and Nico Lodeiro, to bring MLS experience and leadership to the team, and both of them have been incredible in the locker room. They are selfless human beings that understand their roles and want what is best for the team. Both of them have the respect of the guys and our staff, and they have been a joy to work with.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER JUNIOR URSO

On his first start with the Dynamo and the team performance:

“It was a great performance from the team, and I’m proud of it. It’s hard to play on the road versus this good Seattle team, but we played well, and everyone fought until the very end. I’m also proud of my performance. Now it’s just improving on our mistakes and getting ready for Portland.”

On goalkeepers Blake Gillingham and Jimmy Maurer’s performances:

“We have great goalkeepers on the team. It was tough to see Jimmy (Maurer) come off, but Blake (Gillingham) stepped in and was ready for the moment. I’m truly proud of these guys because they are always ready to seize any opportunity and help the team perform at a high level. I don’t get nervous when something happens on the pitch because I know we have great players on the bench who are ready to come on and make a difference. I’m proud of Blake, Jimmy and Andrew (Tarbell) because they are great goalkeepers.”
