HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the match:

“It wasn't our best night, but there was enough there to win the game. We had plenty of opportunities to do exactly what Atlas did. We had enough looks, shots and opportunities to capitalize on a final ball. We defended well and limited a really good team to only a few good chances. It was an even match, and it was tough to lose, but they made the play that mattered.”

On if there is a silver lining to this result:

“Silver linings are tough in this business, but I’m biased and thought we were the better team. We just didn’t capitalize on any of the opportunities we gave ourselves, but we controlled the game. The Atlas coaching staff has done a great job with this team because they are balanced and tough to break down. The silver lining would be Ezequiel Ponce getting 60 minutes and starting to build relationships with his teammates. Also, Lawrence Enalli came in and made his debut for us. You can see he is a player with a high engine and good speed.”

On the resiliency of the team:

“We knew this tournament was going to be a tough task. It’s good to play high-quality teams because we learn more about ourselves. It was also a good opportunity for us to grow.”
