The Dynamo have finally won a game in 2025, with a 1-0 scoreline against LAFC. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.
Starters
Blake Gillingham-7.5 (7.67 avg)
Blake had another steady start in goal, making two saves and keeping the shutout. He did not have a whole lot to do but came up big on one of the saves late in the match.
Griffin Dorsey-9 (6.93 avg)
Dorsey was everywhere in this match on both sides of the ball. He made Denis Bouanga look like an average winger and not the superstar he is. He also added an assist to the game-winning goal.
Erik Sviatchenko-8.5 (6.17 avg)
Erik is officially back and playing 90 minutes again. He was fantastic defending alongside Dorsey on the right side and shutting down Bouanga. His distribution was also excellent with five progressive passes.
Obafemi Awodesu-8 (6.57 avg)
Obafemi continues to stay in the team despite his inconsistencies. He had another more than solid game to keep himself in the team going forward. His defensive awareness continues to improve week after week.
Franco Escobar-9 (7.5 avg)
Escobar is in some insane form, making this three games in a row with at least a 9 rating from us. He had four tackles and three interceptions along with an exceptional offensive display.
Artur-8 (6.79 avg)
Artur put in another vintage midfield display with a 94% pass completion percentage and two interceptions. He was a rock in midfield alongside Urso, taking advantage of the poor midfield LAFC put out.
Junior Urso-8.5 (8.33 avg)
Urso was rock solid all game long defensively alongside Artur. He made eight progressive passes to kickstart the attack. A veteran performance from a player who has been nothing short of excellent for the Dynamo so far.
Amine Bassi-6 (6.14 avg)
This was another game from Bassi where he failed to make a huge impact. He was definitely not bad and was excellent passing the ball. He just lacked that bit of creativity to unlock the attack more often.
Sebastian Kowalczyk-6 (6.14 avg)
A very similar story to Bassi where Kowalczyk was not bad but he never impressed. It was very mediocre from a player who has been nothing but average all season. The Dynamo need improvement from Seba before the new guys take his place.
Jack McGlynn-9.5 MOTM (7 avg)
You could just tell from the first few minutes of the game that Jack was going to dominate. His combination with Dorsey was incredible and he had 11 shot creating actions. He then went on to score a fantastic game winning goal.
Ezequiel Ponce-6 (6.07 avg)
Ponce was never able to really get going in this game with the lack of chances that fell his way. He did really well on a half chance forcing a great save from a tough angle.
Substitutes
Ibrahim Aliyu-7 (6.13 avg)
Aliyu came on to help see out the game and he did just that with his excellent work rate. He was able to get the ball high up the field and away from his own goal, helping keep the clean sheet for the Dynamo.
Nicolas Lodeiro and Ethan Bartlow-N/A
Neither player played enough minutes to get a rating.
Head Coach
Ben Olsen-8.5 (7 avg)
Ben got the lineup perfect, introducing Urso back into the lineup. He also moved Jack McGlynn to the right side, where Coco played last year, and he seamlessly transitioned into the role with a man of the match performance. This was a great win for Ben and the coaching staff and should kickstart their season.
