Can the Dynamo get their first win of 2025? We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against Real Salt Lake.

Cristian - 2-0 Dynamo win
(Record: 1-2)

Ben Olsen is still battling with injuries and finding the perfect form for this group of players. But after losses in the first two games, the match against Columbus showed great promise of what this team could be. Back at home, it’s time to start adding points in multiples of three against a rival that it’s on a bad run of form.

Rudy - 2-0 Dynamo win
(Record: 0-3)

The Houston Dynamo remain desperate to secure their first win of the season. With a challenging schedule ahead, their upcoming home match against Real Salt Lake appears to be the best opportunity to claim three vital points. However, success will hinge on rectifying the errors that cost them in their previous games, with Andrew Tarbell tasked to anchor the defense and maintain a clean sheet, and Ezequiel Ponce expected to deliver the decisive goal.

Joey - 3-0 Dynamo win
(Record: 1-2)

RSL have somehow looked worse than the Dynamo this year, despite their win against a heavily rotated Sounders team. The Dynamo have had a very good time playing RSL since Ben Olsen has taken over and they’re going to be hungry to score some goals.

Dustyn - 2-0 Dynamo win
(Record: 1-2)

The Dynamo have struggled early in 2025 but now get a home match with another team in poor form. RSL is coming off a home loss to expansion San Diego and looks a bit of a mess at this point. Houston needs to take advantage, especially at home. Ezequiel Ponce gets on the board and the defense posts another clean sheet.

Manny - 1-1 draw
(Record 1-2)

The Tienamo are back! The Dynamo showed improvement in their last match against a tough Columbus side. The real question, can they build on it? RSL hasn’t gotten off to the best of starts as well. I can see the Dynamo getting a goal but will it be enough to win the game? We will see.
