HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On positive takeaways:

“There's so many positives. Defensive structure and transitions were pretty good on the defensive end. Offensively, I thought the way we dictated the game's final third. Our entries were good, set pieces were very good all night. We gave them trouble with those. Hector (Herrera) was fantastic. There's a lot of positives, but still, you leave wanting a little bit more.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER ARTUR

On what was needed to win today:

“The effort was there. We had a lot of moments with good quality in passing the ball, I think someone might say we slept a little bit and we got to take care of that and fix that those moments where we are a little bit too casual. We got to pay attention playing against good teams with good attacking options. We got to defend well the counter attacks, but I believe also that we need to score when you have the chances. We had a few chances that we could have done better with, but it's the first game and I believe we're going to get it right.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER TATE SCHMITT

On the result:

“I think the performance, going down on the road is never easy but finding that equalizer shows the grit that we can come from behind and tie it up. Then it's just the little mistakes that we kind of gave at times, didn't gift them the opportunities. Also just looking at the positives, so the chances that we did create the amount of possession that we sustained in the second half, as well as the second part of the first half. The will to just keep going. The season is long. You know, if we continue putting out the performances that we did today, we're going to be in a good spot come the end of the year. We just look at the performance at hand today and realize we've got another opportunity next week.”
