Major League Soccer and Apple Launch MLS Season Pass
Today, Major League Soccer launches a new broadcast partner, teaming with Apple to release MLS Season Pass. The subscription service is now available through the Apple TV app in more than 100 countries and regions. Fans will be able to watch all MLS matches, with no blackouts, in addition to all Leagues Cup matches and hundreds of MLS NEXT Pro and MLS NEXT games.
MLS Season Pass can now be accessed on billions of devices with the Apple TV app, including any Apple device, smart TVs, streaming devices, set-top boxes, game consoles, and through the internet at http://tv.apple.com/. Before the season beings on February 25, fans can enjoy a wide variety of on-demand content from all the clubs, including the Dynamo. This content includes 2023 player profiles, the best league and club highlights from the 2022 season, full replays of classic matches like the 2007 MLS Cup victory, and documentary-style vignettes. The majority of this on-demand content is available for free for fans to enjoy before the season starts on February 25.
Unfortunately, Glenn Davis and Eddie Robinson won’t be calling Dynamo games on TV. We will hear soon more information about the local radio option that each team will have. MLS Season Pass has put together a team of broadcasters and soccer legends, to showcase all of the MLS action and compelling storylines. Fans can visit the MLS website to learn about the MLS Season Pass broadcast team. The full production plan, including assignments and schedules, for MLS Season Pass will be announced soon.
You’ll be able to choose the Dynamo as your favorite team in the app and you will be alerted any time there match is about to start. You can then pull the match up and watch it on any device. On the Dynamo home page in the app you will also be able to see cool features like a drone tour of Shell Energy Stadium, interviews with Hector Herrera from MLS Media Day, and eventually Dynamo 2 matches and content.
Another big plus in the MLS and Apple deal is consistent match times on Saturdays and a few select Wednesdays. All games will be played on those days and at set times, depending on the time zone. Apple will bring improved production quality, and new and exciting ways to celebrate the clubs across all your devices on Apple News, Apple Music, Apple Maps and more. Apple has pledged to constantly be looking for ways to improve that experience as the season goes on and in the years ahead.
Fans can subscribe to MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app, beginning today, for $14.99 per month during the season or $99 per season, and Apple TV+ subscribers can sign up at a special price of $12.99 per month or $79 per season. This is a separate subscription than the Apple TV+ subscription. A subscription to MLS Season Pass will be included with each full-season ticket account and Dynamo season ticket holders should be receiving information about this from the club soon, if they haven’t already. Through Family Sharing, members can share their MLS Season Pass subscription, using their Apple ID and password, with five others.
