While the team still made some avoidable mistakes, they managed to correct them this time and avoided being punished by a talented Crew side. Goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell had an outstanding performance, and head coach Ben Olsen made key adjustments to help the team find success. Meanwhile, the Dynamo's D2 squad marked their season opener with a 3-1 victory over Sporting KC II.
