We said we’d be back. Welcome to Bayou City Soccer.

When SB Nation decided to end support for most of the network’s Major League Soccer and National Women’s Soccer League sites, this meant Dynamo Theory would be no more. There are still questions to what exactly Vox and SBN might do with the sites but we knew this was time to move on for us. We had talked briefly about doing “our own thing” and this is our chance. We won’t have all the support that SBN had, like a posting platform and access to images on demand, but we’re now going to be able to do things on our own.

Bayou City Soccer is going to bring you all the coverage you’ve grown to know at Dynamo Theory, including the podcast. We’ll have more info on the pod soon. The site is going to be a work in progress as we get up and running but we’ll be full-speed ahead as the MLS and NWSL seasons get underway.

Now that we’re on our own, we’re incurring the costs for things like web hosting and domains. SB Nation had advertising and they had a stipend, really enough for a tank of gas to drive to games, and we too are going to work on advertising as well. We won’t have to run whatever ads SBN has partnered with, we’re excited to work with local companies who support us and soccer in our great city.
