Houston Dash announce hiring of Angela Hucles Mangano as President of Women’s Soccer

The Houston Dash have a new Chief Soccer Officer as the club announced the hiring of Angela Hucles Mangano as President of Women’s Soccer. She is the first person with that title in the club’s history. Hucles Mangano will assume the role immediately and is taked with hiring a new head coach prior to the start of NWSL preseason.

Hucles Mangano was most recently the General Manager at Angel City FC. She promoted to the job, from Vice President of Player Development and Operations, in 2022 and helped Angel City to their first playoff appearance in 2023.

“I’m ecstatic for this new opportunity with the Houston Dash and completely energized for this project ahead of us,” Hucles Mangano said. “Being able to bring in the experiences I’ve had in this sport to date and provide the type of stability and consistency to the club that served my teams well as a player and executive, will be core components to the high-performance growth of the organization. I’m excited for this transformation and to work with key members of leadership, the staff, the players, the fans and community of Houston.” 

Prior to shifting to the front office, Hucles Mangano had a decorated career on the pitch. She won two Olympic gold medals with the US Women’s National Team and made over 100 appearances for the USWNT. She also played professionally for the Hampton Road Piranhas in the W-League and Boston Breakers in both the WUSA and WPS. Hucles Mangano was a four-time All-ACC player in her four seasons playing collegiately at the Univeristy of Virginia.

With both Ricky Clarke and Pablo Pinones-Arce leaving the club, Hucles Mangano will be taked with hiring both the next head coach and technical director for the Dash. The NWSL gets into full swing tomorrow so Hugles Mangano will need to hit the ground running as the Dash look to rebuild for the 2025 season.
