Houston Dash sign Bárbara Olivieri to contract extension

The Houston Dash and attacker Bárbara Olivieri have agreed to a new two-year contract, the club announced today. Olivieri’s new contract will commence on January 1, 2025.

Olivieri, was a free agent as of this weekend and could negoatiate with new teams on a contract for next season, decided to stay with her hometown club. The Katy native joined the Dash prior to the 2023 season after beginning her pro career with CF Monterrey in Mexico. “I am both thrilled and grateful to renew my contract with the Houston Dash. It is incredibly fulfilling to represent my hometown every time I take the field, and I cherish those moments because they are truly rare in this profession,” Olivieri said. “I look forward to both my development and building on the culture we have seen in the second half of this season.” 

Olivieri made 26 appearances at Texas A&M University before turning pro. Before that she graduated from Tompkins High School in Katy where she helped lead the Falcons to two state championship final appearances. Olivieri played for Albion Hurricanes as a youth player from 2013-2019, earning several accolades.

We value her contributions and perspective in our ongoing efforts to build a winning club on the field and in the community.” 

Olivieri joins goalkeeper Jane Campbell and defender Paige Nielsen in signing new contracts this season. At just 22 years old, the Venezuela international is a player Houston will look to build around as it goes into a big offseason for the club, trying to get the on-field play turned around.
