The schedule is out for the 2023 season of MLS NEXT Pro and Houston Dynamo 2 get things kicked off with a rivalry match. Houston will travel to the state capital to take on new club Austin FC II in the first match on the MLS NEXT Pro schedule for all teams. That came will take place on Friday, March 24 at 8 PM. That match will be available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Kenny Bundy’s team had an impressive first season in 2022, making it to the playoffs and ultimately falling in the Western Conference Final. Bundy returns as the team’s head coach this season after leaving to be the interim head coach of the senior team at the end of the 2022 Major League Soccer season.

The 2023 MLS NEXT Pro playoffs will look a little different. The two division champions in each conference and the next five teams in the conference standings will advance to the playoffs. The team with the most regular season points in the conference will receive a bye. The two teams with the next highest points will choose their opponent and host the match. The two remaining teams that are not chosen will play each other with the higher seed hosting. The playoffs will then advance to conference semifinals, conference finals, with the highest seed hosting the match.
