2025 MLS schedule released: 5 Dynamo games to circle on your calendar
The Houston Dynamo will look to build off another playoff appearance in 2024 season as the calendar flips to 2025. We now know what the new season will look like as MLS released the full 2025 regular season schedule today. The Dynamo will open the year on February 22 at Shell Energy Stadium against rivals FC Dallas.
The full 2025 schedule for the Dynamo is below:
The league is entering the third year of their deal with Apple TV with games, for the most part, on set dates and times, as you can see by looking at the full schedule. There are a few additional time slots and Sunday games now as it seems the league and Apple have heard the feedback from fans that they do not like all the games being on at one time.
The Texas Derby games are always games to look forward to. Since there are a number of them now, I’m not including them in my five games below but here are the derby games in 2025:
Saturday, February 22 vs FC Dallas
Saturday, April 26 vs Austin FC
Saturday, May 17 at FC Dallas
Saturday, August 9 at Austin FC
With the full schedule now out, what are 5 games to look forward to in 2025? Let’s take a look.
Sunday, March 2 vs Inter Miami
Inter Miami returns to Houston, after their Leagues Cup visit to NRG Stadium last summer, this time to play the Dynamo. This will be the first time the teams meet since the 2023 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Final that Houston won. Oh, and the guy that wears number ten for Miami will be in town as well. With a few of his closest friends from his Barcelona days. You definitely don’t want to miss this match.
Saturday, May 10 vs Seattle Sounders
Houston welcomes Seattle to town for the first time since the Sounders eliminated the Dynamo from the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs. The two teams will play in March in Seattle, as well. Can Ben Olsen’s side exact revenge on the Sounders for ending their 2024 season?
Wednesday, May 28 at New York City FC
The Dynamo travel to The House that Jeter Built in the Bronx to take on New York City FC. It’s not often that the Dynamo get to play in a baseball stadium, especially with New York in the Eastern Conference. This midweek match comes days after a match in San Jose, making it a quick, cross-country turnaround.
Saturday, July 5 at San Diego FC
Houston gets an Independence Day visit to sunny San Diego to take on Major League Soccer’s newest club. San Diego begins play this season and this will be the Dynamo’s first visit to Snapdragon Stadium. The Dash won there in 2024 so, why not a Houston double in 2025?
Saturday, October 18 at Sporting Kansas City
Decision Day 2025 sees the Dynamo in Kansas City to end the regular season. After two straight playoff appearances, the Dynamo will be hoping to lock in a top seed against their rivals from KC. SKC will be trying to bounce back after a down year and hope to be in playoff contention themselves on this final day.
