HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN
On returning to play against D.C. United:
“It’s nice to be supported by friends and family, and it was nice to be back and see a lot of people that I worked with. I had a really nice conversation with Troy (Lesesne), and I’m rooting for him. I think he’s a good young coach with a clear vision, so I’m looking forward to watching them over the next couple years. But overall, when the whistle blows, I’m dialed in on the game and trying to get a win for my organization and the city of Houston.”
On Sebas Ferreira’s performance:
“Sebas has only been healthy for a couple of weeks and is getting back into form. We know he’s a killer in front of the goal and he can score. This is a big night for us and him, for his teammates to have confidence in him and for him to have a bigger stature with the team. This makes my life a little bit more difficult in who I chose to put on the pitch and increases depth. So, I give him a lot of credit. I’m proud of him.”
On Brad Smith’s performance:
“Brad has a nasty left foot, and the space was there (for his two assists). We were up a man, so it was a really good game to for him to come in. We are going to need to provide service, especially with our attackers like Sebas Ferreira and then Ezequiel Ponce coming in. That kind of service is important because those players know what to do when they get the ball.”
HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD SEBAS FERREIRA (TRANSLATED FROM SPANISH)
On scoring a hat trick:
“I’m very happy. It’s been a long time since I have scored three goals, so I am very happy on a personal level. I am happy that I was able to help my team, because at the end of the day, that is what is most important.”
On his preparation:
“I am preparing in every way possible. I don’t feel quite 100 percent yet, but I am doing supplemental trainings. I feel these are helping me the most, especially during day-to-day trainings.”
On how the performance helps his confidence:
“It helps a lot. Confidence is so important for each player. These three goals moving forward are going to help me. I can think positively about everything I have done, and everything I will do. Everything positive I can do is going to be for the team.”
