Houston Dynamo at LA Galaxy staff picks

The Houston Dynamo are on another West Coast road trip, this time to take on the defending MLS Cup champions. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against the LA Galaxy.

Cristian - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 2-5)

El Naranja may have finally found their form. Will we see Jack McGlynn play the position he played against LAFC? If we do, then I think this Dynamo team could keep up their winning ways. The Galaxy come into this match after a tough defeat and exit from CCC. LA should go all out looking for their first MLS win and then the question will be if the Dynamo defense will be able to hold.

Rudy - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 2-5)

Ben Olsen’s Dynamo have had success against LA teams, and after last week’s strong showing vs LAFC, confidence should be high. The Galaxy, like Houston, are battling injuries and roster changes. A Ponce brace at Dignity Health Sports Park would be nice.

Joey - no pick
(Record: 2-5)

Dustyn - 1-1 draw
(Record: 2-5)

The Galaxy will be desperate for their first win of the MLS season, especially at home and especially after being knocked out of Concacaf Champions Cup earlier this week. The Dynamo are riding high after last week’s win over LAFC and a point in Southern California would be another good building block.

Manny - 1-1 draw
(Record 2-5)

The Dynamo got their first win of the season against a collapsing LAFC last week. Now, the real question is whether they can keep it up against a Galaxy side in poor form. All the factors say that the Dynamo should win this, but sometimes, the odds don't go their way.
