The Houston Dynamo lost 2-1 on the road to the LA Galaxy after taking the lead in the first half. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.

Starters

Andrew Tarbell-7

Andrew came in for the injured Steve Clark and barely put a foot wrong. He made a total of four saves but ended up conceding two goals, neither of which were on Tarbell.

Griffin Dorsey-8

Dorsey put on an incredible performance locking up Diego Fagundez and being a menace going forward. Dorsey made six tackles in this game and created four shots on the offensive end. He was also incredible in the transition game with seven progressive carries.

Micael-6

Micael had an alright game making three tackles and three blocks. He was one of three players caught ball watching leading to Gabriel Pec being wide open to level the score for the Galaxy.

Erik Sviatchenko-7

Like Micael, he had a good, not great game at the back for the Dynamo. His play out of the back was outstanding as always. He was not massively at fault for any of the goals scored.

Daniel Steres-6

Steres did a fine job facing off against one of the hottest wingers in MLS this season. His passing out of the back was exceptional once again. He looked exhausted in the second half leading to him being substituted.

Artur-2

This may have been Artur’s weakest performance in a Dynamo shirt. He looked completely lost as the second half opened up, leaving him chasing shadows in the transition game. He was ball watching on the Gabriel Pec goal and was left in the dust by Gaston Brugman leading to Riqui Puig’s winner.

Hector Herrera-8

Hector was at the heart of everything the Dynamo did well, as per usual. He made nearly 100 touches and had fourteen progressive passes. The attack looks much better now that Herrera is finding his footing this season.

Amine Bassi-6

This was Bassi’s weakest game in quite some time, which is impressive being he still had a solid performance. He had a hard time getting involved in the game as much as usual and this might’ve been due to Blessing starting out wide over Aliyu who he has built some great chemistry with. He still put in lots of work and created a few opportunities in the first half.

Coco Carrasquilla-6

Like Bassi, Coco had a much better first half than he did in the second half. He created loads of opportunities in the first half that were not put away. His work rate was exceptional for most of the game outside of the goal Pec scored where Coco was clearly ball watching.

Latif Blessing-8

Latif Blessing played a really good first half before being substituted with an injury. He looked extremely direct with almost every touch of the ball and was able to open the scoring for the Dynamo with his work in the pressing department.

Aliyu Ibrahim-5

Aliyu was back at his natural striker position and looked really good and really bad in certain moments. He played a big role off the ball for Blessing to open the scoring. He had one of the worst misses in front of goal you will see this season.

Substitutes

Brad Smith-3

Brad came on at half time for Blessing and added mostly nothing to the game. He offered nothing going forward of any note and played some lazy defense on Puig’s game winner.

Jefferson Valverde, Gabe Segal, and Franco Escobar-N/A

All three players were subbed in with ten or less minutes to go in the game. It was nice to see Valverde make his debut and to see Escobar back healthy.

Head Coach

Ben Olsen-6

This was a fairly mediocre performance against a Galaxy team in poor form. The second half was excellent, and they should have been up by multiple goals. The second half completely fell apart and it felt like the team was playing with ten men after the Brad Smith substitution.
