Houston Dynamo player ratings at Seattle Sounders

The Houston Dynamo lost away to Seattle in a close 1-0 game. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.

Starters

Steve Clark-6

Steve recorded two saves and only conceded the one goal. It was a fairly quiet game at the back for Steve and there was not much he could have done on the goal.

Griffin Dorsey-7

It was a nice night for Dorsey on both sides of the ball. He got forward really well and created some width for Kowalczyk to shine. He played great defense on Paul Rothrock, who scored out of nothing.

Erik Sviatchenko-8

Erik was his usual great self, playing some exceptional defense throughout the game. He got forward effectively multiple times as well. Sure, he was sort of responsible for the goal, but I am not sure if there really was much else he could have done there. It was just one of those unfortunate goals where it is nobody’s fault.

Micael-8

Like Erik, Micael was rock solid at the back all game long. Jordan Morris was a non-factor at times in the game due to Micael’s great defending. His play out of the back was great as always.

Franco Escobar-9

Franco was the most active player for the Dynamo with over 100 touches of the ball. He played some incredible defense on Pedro De la Vega, who was held to a really poor night. Escobar stepped into midfield as well and played some lovely progressive passes.

Artur-8

Artur played to his usual standard of great defense and a calming presence in possession. There was not a whole lot going forward for Artur, unfortunately.

Coco Carrasquilla-7

Coco was very active on the ball and played some nice forward passes. There was not enough penetration as we are used to seeing with Hector playing in this position. Still a solid night for Coco, however.

Amine Bassi-3

This was Bassi’s weakest performance in quite some time. He only created two shots which is a season low for him. There was not a whole lot of creativity for a player who’s known for his great creative passing.

Sebastian Kowalczyk-8

Sebastian continued his good run of form with a few moments of brilliance in this game. Unfortunately, none of these moments led to much in terms of goals. His work off the ball continues to be a huge part of the way the Dynamo play.

Aliyu Ibrahim-3

A lot of nothing for Aliyu, who struggled to get into the game whatsoever. He played some nice defense in the first half but made no impact going forward. He was subbed out at half time for Gaines.

Sebastian Ferreira-2

Ferreira put in a nice 70 minutes of cardio as he registered zero shots and no created chances. He looked completely lost and not a part of the game whatsoever.

Substitutes

McKinze Gaines-3

Gaines came on at half time for Aliyu and showed why he has not seen the field much this season. He just did not make much of an impact at all and lacked the spark that we have seen from Lawrence Enalli off the bench.

Brad Smith-4

Brad played 20 minutes and moved Gaines to the striker position. He created some width and played nice defense, but not enough to make much of a mark in the game in a short amount of time.

Brooklyn Raines, Gabe Segal, and Jan Gregus-N/A

It was very nice to see all three of these players get some rare minutes, but none were on long enough to get a rating. Raines did look really nice on the ball and made a few good passes.

Head Coach

Ben Olsen-6

Ben put out his best team and had a go of Seattle on the road. Unfortunately, Seattle played a near perfect defensive game and found a goal out of nothing. Not an impressive performance by any means, but also not a performance to panic about either.
