HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the match:

“That’s a tough way to go out of the tournament, but we had a few chances to put the game away and we didn’t do it. Then find a way to lose the game. Let's put it that way. That's not like us. That hasn't been our identity this year, so we're disappointed. Our objectives this season are still the same, and that's to make the postseason. We have a semifinal in the U.S. Open Cup looming, so there’s a lot to look forward to. The four days that we're going to step away from each other are much needed. These guys have played every three days, and we look tired. We look like we're a little bit tired late in the games, and you make some subs because of the condensed schedule. We'll be better for this to just step away now for the next four days. It would have been nice to move on, of course. It stings. I’m not going to sugar coat it, but it stings. It's completely self-inflicted and whether or not we miss one or two easy chances down the stretch there, we let them hang in there and then gave them two goals.”

On Micael:

“I feel for Micael. He stepped up when Teenage Hadebe went down. He’s a kid that got about a game and half last year. This has been his first season of professional soccer; it's been a lot for him we’ve asked a lot of him. He’s passed with flying colors for most of this season, stepping in for a Designated Player. This is normal for a young player who hasn’t had a lot games. He needs a couple of days to get away. He’ll recharge, we will all recharge. We’ve got a lot of faith in him.”

On his thoughts on Leagues Cup:

“It was better than I thought. Part of that was because we got out of the group. We had some exciting games. We had a bunch of home games. Somehow, we ended up having three home games that were all exciting and eventful. This one may be in the wrong way, but it was an enjoyable tournament. Again, we want to keep on moving, but the fact that we didn't, we get to get away from the game a little bit and recharge and get ready for the season.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD COREY BAIRD

On conceding two goals:

“It's a tough one, tough one to swallow. We struggled a bit, in their build and trying to put pressure on them. We accepted not having the ball instead of trying to get it back. When we got the ball, we needed to really value that. Once the two goals went in, you saw we got some chances, we started playing again. We can't settle for that shell and just letting them pepper us.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER GRIFFIN DORSEY

On the match:

“Nothing but disappointment for me. We got a lot to learn from today and that's what we're going to do.”

On his performance:

“It's hard to focus on that right now when we give up two goals in the second half to lose the game at home.”

On being named a standout player:

“Yeah, it's great to hear. Once again, it's a tough way to go out and I think right now that's where the focus is at. We're going to let it hurt for a day and then we're going to move on.”
