HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the game:

“We played well enough to get all three points. We just didn't have the final play tonight. That happens in soccer, another shutout, which is good. We continue to be a good defensive team. A little bit off in the attacking third and making the final play. After Wednesday night, to come in here and play at the level we played at, it’s pretty good. I don't have a lot of negatives, other than we just didn't reward ourselves with a goal and there wasn't a ton of chances, but 17 shots, five on target, eight inside the box. So again, a good game but not enough points.”

On returning to league play:

“Our message for the players over the last couple of days, what type of team do we want to be, a team that can win and enjoy ourselves afterwards on the plane ride and still show up and be pros and go after this. Yeah, let’s be that type of team. Tonight they were and to get a point, it keeps moving us forward. We may drop a place or two right now. This was always going to be a tough match. They're a good team. They're hot. They've been on a roll. I'm not too much of a stats guy. If you look down at those stats after Wednesday night, and the emotion of it all, is pretty good. We just didn't reward ourselves with the goal.”

On the intensity of the match:

“Coming off Wednesday and not knowing what to expect energy-wise. We asked a lot from guys that had a lot of minutes the other night, you know whether it's (Amine) Bassi and Hector (Herrera), Artur and some of that backline, Corey (Baird). Ivan (Franco) had a good performance. He gave us some fresh legs. Then Brad (Smith) did a good job. I'm okay with the decisions that I made. I feel like they could have put us in a situation to win the game. They're good on the ball. You could tell that they had some real possession that put us under pressure and a great forward but overall, it was ours to win.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER TEENAGE HADEBE

On takeaways from the match:

“We are happy with the clean sheet, but it was not the results we want. That’s how it goes when you play El Clásico (rivalry). It was a good measure against a tough opponent. We will take the point and move on. It’s not over until it’s over.”

On the performance of Houston’s backline:

“We fought as a team. Jesús Ferreira is a great striker, but I'm happy that we managed to stop him in front of goal. Now we move onto the next one.”

On goalkeeper Steve Clark leading the league in clean sheets:

“(GK) Steve (Clark) is a great leader with quality. He’s always talking with us, just constantly communicating. I have a good relationship with him. I think that's why we are doing so well at the back. Not only at the back, but we’re defending as a team together. We are grateful for that. We are always doing extra work too, so we’ll keep on moving.”
