HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN
On the performance:
“It is not the result we wanted at home. We handled the transitions well throughout the night, but the set pieces caught us, and we gave one up for the goal. The group showed good resilience to get a goal back, and the subs came on and did a good job. Overall, we had enough chances to win the game.”
On the energy from the stadium:
“Once we started pushing, the energy in the building was great, and the guys played as hard as they could tonight. It was a wild week for Houston, and our thoughts are with the people that have passed away and everyone who is still without power. This is my first time in Houston with this kind of natural disaster, and the sense of community is real. Hopefully, we can all get back to normal soon.”
On the team’s energy shift after conceding:
“Anytime you go down a goal but you come back with the right response, it’s a positive thing. This team has that ability, particularly at home, and we’ve been able to do that for most of the year.”
HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER ARTUR
On the performance:
“I'm happy with the comeback. We put a lot of effort into the game, but we always want to win at home. Minnesota came here with a plan to defend and counter. We should have done better on the goal we conceded because we knew they were looking for set piece opportunities. We’re going to keep pushing to get better on that.”
On how to break teams down:
“It's difficult to go through the middle, and they knew that we could connect and play within the midfield. We need more movement in behind and a better final ball. It’s difficult when they defend with so many players behind the ball, but we found some space behind the line. We need to connect all the way through the final ball and be killers with those chances.”
On the challenges the storm presented this week:
“It was a bit different at the beginning of the week with no power, but I thank God that none of us had any major issues. We had all the support from the Club to recover, rest well and everything else we needed. Overall, the storm did not influence anything on our side, and it is not an excuse. Tonight, we were prepared. I just hope everybody continues to recover as we continue to support each other around Houston.”
