Houston Dynamo vs Seattle Sounders staff picks

The Houston Dynamo face a midweek match at home tonight. We asked our staff for their predictions on the match against Seattle.

Cristian - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 4-12)

Matches against Seattle tend to be close ones but with the Dynamo coming in with decent form, plus the advantage of playing at home, it should give the naranjas the edge tonight.

Rudy - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 8-8)

Houston is coming off a successful road trip in which they showed their great form. Defensively, the team has started to show slight cracks. It is all in the small details, being smart, and making the correct decisions. You hope that the kinks are ironed out when Seattle comes to visit, because the Sounders seem to always beat the Dynamo. I think tonight Houston gets a win against them for the first time in a good while.

Manny - 1-0 Dynamo win
(Record: 4-11)

Houston has good form and momentum on their side. They face a Seattle side that has been coming back to life since their horrible start to the season. Seattle may not be as dangerous as previous seasons but they are vulnerable and the Dynamo can take the opportunity to take an early lead and close the game to rest for another game on the weekend.

Joey - 3-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 6-10)

The Dynamo have looked much sharper in attack as of late. Expect the Dynamo to be on the front foot for most of the game while Seattle struggle to even get attacks in. The Dynamo desperately need to start stringing together back to back results at home and I expect them to do just that following a 3-1 win in their last home game against Colorado.

Dustyn - 1-1 draw
(Record: 4-12)

Seattle has the Dynamo’s number, for whatever reason. I can see the Dynamo getting in front early but struggling to put the game away and leaving the door open for a late Sounders equalizer.

Billy - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record 4-12)

The Dynamo have really been starting to put it together with 1 loss in their last 5 matches. I expect the Dynamo to use that momentum, combined with the push of the home crowd, to leave the Sounders faithful sleepless in Seattle. It'll be a good test and fresh off the news of a franchise record breaking signing, the mood is elevated and the team is buzzing. Dynamo take this one 2-1.
