Introducing Volt League

When we started Bayou City Soccer, back in February, our goal was to provide our readers with the best coverage of Houston soccer. Most of it is centered around the pro teams here in the city, Houston Dynamo, Houston Dash, and Houston Dynamo 2. But, as Houstonians, we know that there is way more to Houston soccer than just our pro teams. Several of us at Bayou City Soccer, grew up playing soccer in the suburbs around town, heck my kids just started playing youth soccer in Alvin. They mostly enjoy playing with dirt and picking up flowers, oh and eating snacks, they really enjoy the snacks. But the exposure to the beautiful game is there for them.

It would be a massive task to keep you updated with every team and every league in all the different age groups around the Houston-area, but this season we will be bringing you the best coverage of one of the fastest growing leagues in the Bayou City, Volt League.

Volt League is not your typical Sunday league. Volt league was created by Sebastian Salazar, a passionate soccer fan, with the intent of inspiring and bringing a new football community together through what makes sports culture what it is, art, music and most importantly, creativity. Volt League is a competitive league made of two tough divisions, with promotion and relegation. The best part of this league is that is setup to be as professional of a structure as it can be. Each team is fitted with Adidas gear, so everyone can look good and play good. Most of the games are live streamed with added commentary. Players are given the spotlight, through pre- and post-match interviews. The winners get a beautiful trophy along with medals for each player, just ask the 22/23 winner AC Juniors.

Volt League is a place where dreams can become a reality, giving players on the verge of breaking through a chance to showcase their talent. Mauricio Garza, at 24 years old, was picked up by Aniquiladores FC in Gerard Pique’s Kings League last season. The exposure that Volt League provides their players is unmatched by any other league in Houston. Trust me, where there is no vision, the people perish, and the vision by Sebastian and Volt League has no limit.

If you are interested in learning more about Volt League and how to join, check out their website at www.volt-league.com. The new season kicks off this weekend, so check out all the teams and let us know who you’ll be rooting for! Here at Bayou City Soccer, we will keep you updated with all the results and news this season.
