Out of the Playoffs

Following last week’s result, the Dash are mathematically out of the playoffs, and given their current form, it would have been a long shot for them to qualify. The pressing question now is what they will be playing for. Earlier in the season, during their slump, they held out hope for a turnaround. Now, they must play for the fans and themselves, with a focus on avoiding last place. However, given their recent performance and the challenges ahead, this may be a tall order.

Maintaining High Intensity

The upcoming match will be tough for the Dash. Interim head coach Ricky Clarke emphasized that the team is eager to get the match underway. A key factor for the Dash to gain an edge will be their intensity on the field. Whether it's pressing the ball, making runs, or delivering accurate passes, the team must prioritize these aspects and execute them effectively. They need to find a way to push through and secure positive results. Additionally, the return of Katie Lind from maternity leave could provide a significant boost if she can play before the season ends.

Alex-less San Diego

The Wave were once synonymous with Alex Morgan, but since her retirement, they have recorded two wins and two losses. While Morgan was a key contributor to their scoring, the Wave have continued to function effectively, thanks to talented players like Jaedyn Shaw, Delphine Cascarino, Naomi Girma, Maria Sanchez, and Kailen Sheridan. The Dash will have opportunities to secure a result, but they must remain vigilant, as the Wave can capitalize on any mistakes.
