2024 in review

Havana Solaun’s 2024 season was severely hampered by injuries, limiting her to just five appearances. She started the home opener in March, a 0-0 draw with Louisville, and then appeared off the bench two more times in the following weeks. Solaun then missed most of the middle of the season before returning in September for two appearances off the bench.

The Jamaican international may have had a season to forget but she did have a moment to remember. One that will go down in NWSL history, one that silenced a sell-out crowd in a club’s first ever home match.

Moment of the season

Solaun’s moment of the season is of course her banger in the 10th minute of stoppage time on March 30 to give the Dash a 3-2 win on the road against Bay FC. It was a wild match capped off by a wild goal to give Houston the win in front of 18,000 fans in the Bay Area club’s first home match in club history.

Looking forward

Solaun is out of contract and now a free agent. She will turn 32 before next season and it seems her time in Houston has come to an end.
