2024 in review

This won’t be your typical report card—Zoe played less than 10 minutes in 2024. However, she was undeniably one of the brightest glimpses of what the future could hold for a club in desperate need of hope. The 17-year-old made history in October, becoming the youngest player ever to sign with the Dash. But this is far from a token gesture—Zoe has the makings of a star.

Standing at an impressive 6’2”, her physical presence immediately sets her apart. More importantly, she appears comfortable in her frame, something many teenagers take time to adjust to after growth spurts. From the moment she stepped onto the field wearing the number 27, Zoe carried herself like a seasoned veteran. She wasn’t afraid to call for the ball, take on defenders, or even let loose with a shot from distance.

Moment of the season

Although her playing time was limited—just a brief six minutes in her debut—that moment was undoubtedly her highlight. In that short span, she offered the team something different, taking a shot and logging eight touches. Her composure on the ball and willingness to make an impact were clear signs of her potential.

Looking forward

While uncertainty looms with the Dash still lacking a general manager and head coach, Zoe’s future appears bright. She’s under contract through the 2026 season, and the hope is that whoever takes the reins of this rebuilding team will give her the opportunity to develop and showcase her skills. It’s a tough challenge for a club in transition, but Zoe Matthews could be a cornerstone of the Dash’s next chapter.
