HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the victory:

“Three points at home and again, always just nice to look up into the stands and see smiling faces from our fans. Our gutsy win was an interesting game. It was very cagey at times and (Inter Miami) are much improved. They had the two-week bye week. They picked up two nice additions (DF) Kamal Miller. I don't know how they got him, but it was a nice pick up and he changes them and gave them some time to prepare for us. They were prepared and they are a great team, but we feel great about the win.”

On what is going right in terms of the culture of the group

“We can talk about the defense for a second with four shutouts at home. That’s going in the right direction. Our goal in the run of play, that’s improving and our chance creation at our run of play is getting better. I think the idea of who we are and how we are going to go about winning games, what our ethos is, what we can hang our hat on right now to win games is getting clearer by the day. I think there is some belief right now with the group. But within that belief and kind of where we are moving forward there, I think there is still a little bit of a hunger and we understand we have a ways to go to be a playoff team and to ultimately kind of repeat that. We have a ways to go and as far as ‘did the game go the way we wanted it to,’  we won. Games, they are not perfect but the resiliency and the defensive effort was great."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER ADALBERTO CARRASQUILLA (TRANSLATED FROM SPANISH)

On winning the first four games at home:

“Very happy for the group and personally, for making our home a tough place to play, which is very important. It is what will take us to the top spots in the table. You have to keep winning at home."

On the difference between Dynamo this year and in previous years:

“A bit of everything, when things are done well, you see the positive results. A practically new group was put together, the foundation of the team has been changed. A good group has been put together and that has led us to these victories, especially at home."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER HÉCTOR HERRERA (TRANSLATED FROM SPANISH)

On the physical match:

“I'm obviously tired, because it was a difficult match. We were never able to be in complete control, as we have been in other home games. But, happy with the result, which in the end, is the most important thing.”

On the difference between this team and the team last year:

“I don't want to compare. We are experiencing a different year, there are new players. I am happy with what we are experiencing, with what we are achieving, with how we are working. It is still too early to say if we will do well or not this season. There are many more games to go. We have to continue on this path, keep working, keep improving. I think there are still many things to improve, but I think we are on the right track. We have a very good group and that is visible on the pitch.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER DANIEL STERES

On his goal:

“I think we just had some sustained pressure in their half and their box, which allowed me to get forward a little bit. Good ball by Coco (Adalberto Carrasquilla), and Corey (Baird) found some space. Once I saw him going the angle, it looked good for him. I knew he was going to lay it back, and I was just trying to give myself some space. I really wasn't sure if I was going to just put my laces through it or open up and kind of see an angle. A little bit of a deflection might have helped.”

On four consecutive clean sheets at home:

“It's great, something to be proud of, for sure. We pride ourselves in keeping the ball out of the net and getting shutouts. We know if we do that, we'll give ourselves a chance. Even though today I don't think we were at our best, but we got a little bit lucky and fought hard. If we keep a shout out, we always have a chance.”
